The length of the mandate of the six members of The Cree Hunters Economic Security Board, named by the gouvernement du Québec and by the Cree Nation Government, is left in the discretion of authorities responsible for their nomination.
Thats the gouvernement du Québec and the Cree Nation Government to designate, each year and alternately, a chair and a vice-chair from among the members of the Board. These last meet periodically to evaluate and follow up on activities of the Program. The members are submitted to a Code of ethics and professional conduct. The Chairman leads the meeting and its sittings may be held at any place in Québec.
The Director-general is the designated authority for the internal management.
The Board has 18 employees, including full-time. part-time and occasional staff. Among those, 12 are stationed in Cree communities and 6 work at the head office in Québec City. The staff of the Cree Hunters Economic Security Board does not belong to the public service of Québec.
Instead, the Board sets requirements. remuneration standards and scales as well as the other conditions of employment for its personnel. These last participate in the Government and Public Employees Retirement Plan (RREGOP) or the Pension Plan of Management Personnel (PPM).
